Shaylee and LA!

Here are two of my most favorite people on this planet. Shaylee and LA were students of mine last year and I love them with my whole heart. They stopped by last night to say hi and hug and kiss my kids. Shaylee is getting married in two weeks (holy crap!) and LA attends USU and I hear is dating someone. She was kind of quiet about that last night. They are so beautiful!

Friend Spotlight

Sydnie and Chad. Two people in my life who keep me laughing. I am so lucky to not only love my job, but to be able to do it with two people I love with my whole heart. Ry and I just got back from our yearly venture to San Diego, Chad and some other friends went with us. At one point in the back seat of the car, Chad and I were crying we were laughing so hard. And Syd? Well, what can be said about Syd. Here is a conversation we had the other day. Me - "Syd, what are you doing next Thursay?" Syd - "What day of the week is that?" Yes folks, that's Syd. In a nutshell. I love them both!!!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Duncan - "There is a kid in my class who is part mexican, part irish and a little bit fairy."
RyLeigh - "Well, I believe the fairy part, but the mexican-irish thing sounds sketchy."

Student - "Mrs. Thorne, I am having surgery on my foot this week so I won't be able to dance for the dance audition. Is that okay?"
Me - "Um, how can I give you a dance score if you can't dance?"
Student - "Oh, right. That's a problem?"

Me - "Britton, is that your hand?"
Asked during a photo op in San Diego two weeks ago.

Mom to RyLeigh - "Whatever you and your sister are whispering about and planning you make sure you include your little brother."
RyLeigh, looking extremely confused, "You want me to give him a makeover?"

Duncan to Mom - "I just wiped my hand on your shirt."
Mom to Duncan - "What?!"
Duncan to Mom - "Hey, I'm your son. It's what kids do."

Duncan - "When I run around my uvula gets dry. It happens alot." Mom - "Hey Dunc, this week we need to spring clean your room. Get rid of stuff and organize."
Duncan - "Yeah, let's do. We can give it to the homely."
Mom - "The homely?"
Duncan - "Yeah, they got nothin'."

Duncan, to his Dad, on the way home from Valentine's dinner:
"There are too many girls in this family!!!"

"So, a red-head, a brunette and a blond walk to the top of this cliff . . ."
Duncan, telling this joke out of nowhere to my good friend Bonnie. ( I was so glad he didn't say, 'walk into a bar!'

On seeing Maddie, my student TA who takes Duncan to school for me every other Friday,
Maddie - "Duncan, come on, let's go."
Duncan - "Oh hey Maddie . . . Bad hair day, huh?"

Scene: Children 1, 2 and 3 all screaming at the same time. Mom enters room:
Mom "Holy S#@t! What is going on in here!"
Mom takes Kid 3 to van. Enters kitchen:
Kid 2 "We're in deep S#@t , aren't we Mom?"
Mom laughs so hard she can't stand up.
The end

In regards to a wedding reception held at her home:
"There are people I don't like. And they don't like me. Just don't come to my house."
Sandy, my cutest backyard neighbor

Duncan: "Dad, what's a slut?"
Ryan: "Someone who has lots of girlfriends."
Duncan, pondering for a moment, "I want to be a slut."
